A small business is defined as a business that is independently owned and operated and has a small number of employees, usually fewer than one hundred. People start small businesses because they are easy and don't cost a lot to start, however many small business' still fail due to lack of funding. You can apply to be a small business through your local government agency for a small fee and some personal information.
