Search Engine Marketing (SEM)

Search Engine Marketing is a subset of Internet Marketing which aims at increasing the awareness of a business or website through search engines. Main methods of accomplishing this are by using Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising, and paid inclusion. The largest search engines are Google, Yahoo and MSN in that respective order. They all offer programs for companies to promote their websites using their proprietary tools.
